Yellowstone National Park

On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant signed legislation establishing Yellowstone as the world's first national park, protecting more than two million acres of geothermal wonders, wildlife, and wilderness. Yellowstone's creation marked the beginning of the American national park system. The park remains one of the most visited and celebrated natural areas in the world.
