By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, reserving a Participant Placement, submitting content, or otherwise interacting with the Services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional policies expressly incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.
AmericanStars250 is an independent, privately owned commemorative platform created in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The purpose of the Services is to provide individuals, families, organizations, businesses, schools, military members, veterans, first responders, nonprofits, and other eligible participants with an opportunity to create and publicly display a commemorative participant profile celebrating their connection to the United States, its communities, its history, and its future.
AmericanStars250 is intended to preserve personal stories, achievements, memories, family traditions, organizational contributions, and other information voluntarily shared by participants.
The Services are commemorative in nature and are designed to encourage civic participation, historical appreciation, and community engagement.
Nothing contained within the Services should be interpreted as creating any governmental status, legal designation, historical certification, ownership interest, or official recognition.
AmericanStars250 is an independent commercial project. AmericanStars250 is not owned, operated, sponsored, endorsed by, or officially affiliated with:
References to American history, historical events, patriotic themes, anniversaries, public landmarks, state names, flags, symbols, or similar subjects are provided solely for commemorative, educational, informational, or editorial purposes.
Participation in AmericanStars250 does not constitute governmental recognition, public office, official historical designation, certification, endorsement, or affiliation with any governmental entity.
For purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply.
Account means a registered user account created to access certain features of the Services.
Participant means any individual or authorized representative of an organization who submits information for publication through the Services.
Participant Placement means a commemorative placement made available by AmericanStars250 for the display of an approved participant profile. A Participant Placement is a limited right to display approved content through the Services in accordance with these Terms. It does not constitute ownership of any portion of the Website, any state page, any placement number, or any intellectual property belonging to AmericanStars250.
Profile means the publicly displayed commemorative page associated with a Participant Placement.
Reservation means the successful request to reserve an available Participant Placement following payment (if applicable), acceptance of these Terms, and approval by AmericanStars250.
User Content means all information, photographs, text, biographies, logos, graphics, links, messages, documents, images, audio, video, or other materials submitted by a Participant.
Website means americanstars250.com and any related domains operated by AmericanStars250.
Services means the Website together with all software, applications, features, databases, digital experiences, content, and services made available by AmericanStars250.
To use the Services, you represent and warrant that:
Parents or legal guardians may create or manage Profiles on behalf of minors or individuals under their legal care, provided they have the legal authority to do so.
AmericanStars250 reserves the right to request reasonable information necessary to verify eligibility where appropriate.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AmericanStars250.
If you use the Services on behalf of a business, nonprofit organization, school, government entity, military organization, or any other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you do not possess such authority, you must not submit information or create a Profile on behalf of that entity.
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Services, applicable law, business practices, or operational requirements.
When material changes are made, we will update the Effective Date shown at the beginning of these Terms.
Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must discontinue using the Services.
AmericanStars250 provides an online platform through which eligible Participants may:
AmericanStars250 may modify, expand, suspend, discontinue, or replace any portion of the Services at any time without prior notice.
Nothing in these Terms shall be interpreted as guaranteeing the permanent availability of any feature, functionality, placement, design, technology, or Service.
Participation in AmericanStars250 is entirely voluntary and commemorative.
A Reservation grants the Participant a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to display an approved Profile through the Services, subject to these Terms.
Participation does not grant:
All rights not expressly granted remain the exclusive property of AmericanStars250.
Certain features of the Services require the creation of an Account. When creating an Account, you agree to:
You are responsible for all activities conducted through your Account unless unauthorized access results directly from our failure to implement reasonable security measures.
AmericanStars250 may suspend or restrict access to an Account if we reasonably believe it has been compromised, is being used fraudulently, or is being used in violation of these Terms.
You may not create an Account using false, misleading, or impersonated identities. Only one Account may be created for each individual unless we expressly authorize otherwise.
AmericanStars250 offers a limited number of commemorative Participant Placements. Unless otherwise announced by AmericanStars250, each U.S. state contains a maximum of 250 Participant Placements.
Participant Placements are made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability displayed on the Website is provided for convenience and may change without notice until a Reservation has been confirmed.
AmericanStars250 may introduce additional placement categories, commemorative collections, featured placements, or special editions in the future without affecting these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms guarantees that any particular Participant Placement will remain available until a Reservation has been completed.
A Reservation is considered complete only after all of the following conditions have been satisfied:
Submission of payment alone does not guarantee that a Reservation has been completed.
If two or more users attempt to reserve the same Participant Placement at approximately the same time, priority will be determined based on successful processing and confirmation of the Reservation through our systems.
If a Reservation cannot be completed because the requested Participant Placement is no longer available, AmericanStars250 may offer an alternative placement or provide another remedy consistent with our Refund Policy.
Each approved Reservation may be associated with one public Participant Profile. Profiles may include, where applicable:
Certain Profile fields may be optional. AmericanStars250 reserves the right to modify available Profile features over time. Profiles are intended to commemorate Participants and should remain respectful, accurate, and appropriate for a public audience.
Participant Profiles are designed to be publicly accessible. Unless a feature expressly provides otherwise, information published within a Profile may be viewed by visitors to the Website without creating an Account.

AmericanStars250 cannot control how third parties may access, preserve, or redistribute publicly available information once it has been published. Participants are solely responsible for deciding what information they choose to make public.
Participants are solely responsible for the accuracy of all information submitted through the Services. By submitting information, you represent and warrant that:
AmericanStars250 does not independently verify every factual statement submitted by Participants. We may, but are not obligated to, request clarification, supporting documentation, or corrections where we reasonably believe submitted information may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent with these Terms.
All submitted Profiles are subject to review before publication. AmericanStars250 may approve, reject, delay, or request revisions to any submitted Profile.
Profile review is intended to help ensure compliance with these Terms, applicable law, and the commemorative purpose of the Services. Approval of a Profile should not be interpreted as verification of its factual accuracy.
AmericanStars250 reserves the right to remove or temporarily disable a published Profile if new information suggests that continued publication may violate these Terms or applicable law.
To maintain consistency throughout the Website, AmericanStars250 may make limited editorial adjustments to submitted content. Such adjustments may include:
Except where required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent misleading or unlawful content, AmericanStars250 will not intentionally alter the intended meaning of Participant-submitted information without the Participant's consent.
Participants remain solely responsible for all content associated with their Profiles. Participants agree to ensure that their Profiles:
Participants are encouraged to promptly update their Profiles if published information becomes materially inaccurate. AmericanStars250 is not responsible for losses resulting from a Participant's failure to maintain accurate Profile information.
A Participant Placement represents only a commemorative opportunity to display an approved Profile through the Services. A Reservation does not create:
All software, numbering systems, placement structures, layouts, maps, databases, designs, and organizational methods remain the exclusive property of AmericanStars250. Participants receive only the limited rights expressly described in these Terms.
AmericanStars250 is a commemorative participation platform created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States through the preservation of personal stories, family histories, community contributions, and organizational legacies.
The Services are intended to provide Participants with an opportunity to create and publicly display a commemorative Profile as part of the AmericanStars250 project. Participation in the Services is symbolic and commemorative in nature.
Nothing offered through the Services is intended to constitute an investment, financial product, security, collectible asset, government recognition, certification, license, franchise, membership interest, or property right.
Certain Participant Placements may require payment of a reservation fee. Reservation fees are charged in consideration of:
Reservation fees are not paid in exchange for ownership of any digital asset, placement number, map location, intellectual property, or portion of the Website. Payment of a reservation fee does not transfer ownership rights of any kind.
Payments are processed through independent third-party payment providers selected by AmericanStars250. By submitting payment, you represent and warrant that:
AmericanStars250 does not store complete payment card information. Payment processing is subject to the terms and policies of the applicable payment provider. We reserve the right to delay, reject, or cancel any transaction that reasonably appears to involve fraud, unauthorized activity, abuse, or a violation of these Terms.
Unless otherwise stated, all prices displayed through the Services are listed in United States Dollars (USD). AmericanStars250 reserves the right to modify pricing, introduce promotional offers, or discontinue promotional pricing at any time.
Price changes will not affect Reservations that have already been confirmed. Applicable taxes, governmental fees, or similar charges may be added where required by law.
Because Participant Placements are limited in number and involve administrative review, moderation, and reservation of commemorative availability, all confirmed Reservations are generally final.
Except where required by applicable law or expressly provided in our Refund Policy, reservation fees are non-refundable.
AmericanStars250 may, at its sole discretion, issue a full or partial refund in circumstances including, but not limited to:
Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights provided by applicable consumer protection laws.
AmericanStars250 reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or revoke a Reservation before publication of a Profile if we reasonably determine that:
Where appropriate, AmericanStars250 may provide the Participant with an opportunity to correct the issue before making a final decision.
If a Reservation is cancelled by AmericanStars250 for reasons unrelated to a violation of these Terms by the Participant, an appropriate refund or alternative resolution may be offered.
Participants retain ownership of the original User Content they submit to the Services. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of User Content to AmericanStars250.
However, by submitting User Content, Participants acknowledge that AmericanStars250 requires certain rights to host, display, manage, preserve, and promote that content as part of the Services. Those rights are described in the following section.
By submitting User Content, you grant AmericanStars250 a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to:
This license exists solely for the purpose of operating, improving, preserving, promoting, and providing the Services. AmericanStars250 will not sell ownership of your User Content to third parties.
By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:
You remain solely responsible for the legality and accuracy of your User Content.
Participants may request the removal of their User Content, subject to applicable law and any legal obligations requiring its retention.
AmericanStars250 may also remove User Content if it reasonably determines that continued publication:
Removal of User Content does not automatically require deletion of internal administrative records, backups, legal records, or information that AmericanStars250 is required or permitted by law to retain.
Where User Content has already been incorporated into backups, system logs, archival copies, or technical records, the license granted under these Terms shall continue only to the extent reasonably necessary for:
AmericanStars250 will not continue publicly displaying removed User Content unless authorized by the Participant or required by law.
AmericanStars250 may use artificial intelligence ("AI") technologies to assist in the development, operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Services. AI tools may be used for purposes including, but not limited to:
AI-assisted content may be reviewed, edited, supplemented, or approved by human editors before publication. However, not every AI-assisted output is manually reviewed.
AI technologies are used as editorial and productivity tools and should not be interpreted as providing legal, historical, financial, genealogical, medical, or professional advice. AmericanStars250 makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate information but does not guarantee that AI-assisted content will always be complete, accurate, current, or free from error.
To demonstrate the appearance and functionality of the Services, AmericanStars250 may publish temporary demonstration content. Such content may be identified using labels including "Sample Profile," "Example Profile," "Demonstration Profile," or "Coming Soon."
Demonstration Profiles are intended solely to illustrate how Participant Profiles may appear within the Services. Unless expressly identified otherwise, Demonstration Profiles should not be interpreted as representing actual participants, historical persons, organizations, or events.
AmericanStars250 may modify, replace, or remove Demonstration Profiles at any time without prior notice.
The Services may include historical information relating to the United States, individual states, communities, historical events, public figures, landmarks, organizations, anniversaries, and other topics. Historical content is provided for commemorative, educational, and informational purposes only.
AmericanStars250 makes reasonable efforts to prepare historical materials using publicly available sources that are believed to be reliable at the time of publication. However:
Accordingly, AmericanStars250 does not warrant that every historical statement is complete, exhaustive, or universally accepted. Nothing contained within the historical portions of the Services should be interpreted as official historical guidance or the position of any governmental, educational, cultural, or historical institution.

The overall presentation of the Services — including, where applicable, the selection, coordination, arrangement, visual organization, numbering methodology, placement structure, page design, and other original creative elements — reflects proprietary design choices made for the AmericanStars250 platform.
While individual concepts or ideas may not themselves be protected under applicable intellectual property law, the original expression, selection, coordination, arrangement, design, text, graphics, software, and other protectable elements of the Services are protected to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms grants permission to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit those protected elements without the prior written consent of AmericanStars250.
"AmericanStars250," together with associated logos, branding, graphics, slogans, and other identifiers used in connection with the Services, may constitute trademarks, service marks, trade dress, or other proprietary identifiers of AmericanStars250.
You may not use any such identifiers without our prior written permission, except where permitted by applicable law. Any third-party names, trademarks, logos, or service marks appearing within the Services remain the property of their respective owners. Reference to any third-party name or mark does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or approval unless expressly stated.
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You may not:

To preserve the integrity, reliability, and long-term value of the Services, AmericanStars250 may take reasonable actions to maintain the quality, accuracy, security, and commemorative purpose of the platform. Such actions may include reviewing submissions, requesting corrections, limiting certain features, removing content that does not comply with these Terms, or restricting participation where reasonably necessary.
These measures are intended to protect both the project and its Participants and should not be interpreted as guaranteeing the accuracy, authenticity, or endorsement of any Profile.
Participants are expected to contribute in a respectful and lawful manner. All Profiles and User Content should support the commemorative purpose of the Services and be suitable for a general audience.
Participants agree not to submit content that:
AmericanStars250 may publish additional Community Guidelines from time to time. Those guidelines, when published, are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
AmericanStars250 may review User Content before or after publication to help maintain compliance with these Terms and applicable law. Where reasonably necessary, we may:
Moderation decisions are made in good faith based on the information reasonably available at the time. Approval of a Profile does not constitute verification of its factual accuracy or an endorsement of the Participant or the content submitted.
AmericanStars250 may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Services where we reasonably determine that:
Where reasonably practicable, AmericanStars250 may notify the Participant and provide an opportunity to address the issue before permanent termination. Termination of access does not affect obligations that, by their nature, survive termination, including provisions relating to intellectual property, licenses, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and applicable law.
AmericanStars250 is an evolving platform. To improve the experience of Participants and visitors, we may from time to time:

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy, Community Guidelines, AI Content Disclosure, and any additional policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the complete agreement between you and AmericanStars250 regarding the Services.
They supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, negotiations, and agreements relating to the Services.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
