Sun Valley Development

The development of Sun Valley as a resort destination in the 1930s put Idaho on the map as a world-class recreation area. The Union Pacific Railroad built the resort to attract passengers to the region, and it quickly became a gathering place for celebrities, athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts. Sun Valley helped establish Idaho's identity as a premier destination for skiing and outdoor adventure.
