Samuel Clemens, known as Mark Twain, made his home in Hartford, Connecticut, where he wrote some of his most celebrated works, including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. His Hartford years were among the most productive of his literary career. The Mark Twain House remains one of Connecticut's most visited historic sites.
